What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Coach - Men's Basketball position at FTSE - Full Time Staff Exempt?
Work with the Head Men's Basketball Coach in directing the men's basketball program. Assume the Head Men's Basketball Coach role during times when the Head Men's Basketball Coach is not present or unable to.
Supervisory Responsibility
Formal supervisory responsibilities are limited to the men's basketball program as assigned by the Head Coach.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Men's Basketball Coach in directing the men's basketball program, including but not limited to:
- Development of effective practice and game plans.
- On-the-floor coaching and player skill development.
- Recruiting qualified student-athletes.
- Monitoring student-athlete academic success.
- Coordinating team travel plans.
- Serving as video exchange coordinator.
- Assisting with strength and conditioning.
- Assume the Head Men's Basketball Coach role during times when the Head Men's Basketball Coach is not present or unable to.
- Commitment to University, Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), and NCAA rules and regulations.
Qualifications
- Required Knowledge
- Thorough understanding of the game and technical aspects in the sport of basketball.
- Required Skills or Abilities
- The ability to effectively teach team and individual skills connected with team and player development.
- Required Formal Education
- Four-year college education.
