Job Description
Maryville University is seeking a dynamic individual who demonstrates a commitment to teaching excellence, teamwork, and exceptional service to students and the University. This full-time, on-ground position within the Catherine McAuley School of Nursing is responsible for teaching in the undergraduate nursing programs. The faculty member will participate in advising students, engaging in scholarly activities, and providing service to the Nursing School and the University. This is a 9.5-month contract. Tenure status will be based on credentials and completion of a doctoral program. The successful candidate must be committed to fostering a culturally diverse atmosphere for faculty, staff, and students and should be able to teach a variety of courses across the curriculum, including classroom/didactic, clinical, lab, and simulation assignments.
Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of courses across the undergraduate nursing curriculum, including classroom/didactic, clinical, lab, and simulation assignments.
- Advise and mentor undergraduate nursing students.
- Engage in scholarly activities relevant to nursing education and practice.
- Provide service to the Catherine McAuley School of Nursing and the University.
- Foster a culturally diverse and inclusive atmosphere for faculty, staff, and students.
- Participate in curriculum development and assessment as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing.
- Unencumbered, undisciplined, unrestricted nursing license in the state of Missouri.
- Ability to be credentialed by the Missouri Board of Nursing.
- Five (5) years of recent RN experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- DNP or Doctorate in a related field.
- Two (2) years of teaching experience in a baccalaureate nursing program.
- Experience with Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) and Microsoft Office products.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand or sit during class time for up to four (4) hours.
- Must be able to safely lift up to 35 lbs.
Work Hours
- Work hours may include days, evenings, and weekends, depending on the schedule and semester.
