Are you an Electrical Engineer with 2-5 years of experience designing electrical systems for commercial and industrial buildings? We’re looking for a motivated engineer ready to grow their skills on a diverse portfolio that ranges from small tenant improvements to 500,000 SF advanced manufacturing facilities, including K-12 and higher education, healthcare, civic, and mission-critical projects. You’ll develop strong technical depth across power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, low-voltage and special systems, fire alarm, and building decarbonization/electrification infrastructure. You’ll collaborate across disciplines, both in-house and with external sub-consultants, and gain exposure to client interactions as you build your career in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

  • What You’ll Do


Engineering & Design:

  • Design electrical systems for commercial and industrial facilities, including power distribution, lighting and lighting controls, fire alarm and detection, low-voltage and special systems (security, AV, paging, access control), and electrical infrastructure supporting building decarbonization and electrification (EV charging, heat pump and induction loads, on-site generation, and energy storage).
  • Perform engineering calculations and prepare load letters, short circuit analysis, and photovoltaic production studies.
  • Produce design documentation primarily in Revit (with AutoCAD and Bluebeam as supporting tools) and use industry-standard analysis software for lighting (e.g., AGi32, Visual), power systems (e.g., SKM, ETAP, EasyPower), and generator sizing (e.g., CAT, Cummins).
  • Work with utility companies on service requirements.


Project Coordination & Management:

  • Coordinate across disciplines, with mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection engineers in-house and with external sub-consultants (structural, technology, security, lighting design), to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Support the coordination of work among designers, BIM staff, and technical personnel as it pertains to the electrical team.
  • Support project milestones by remaining engaged with project teams 
  • Participate in internal process improvement initiatives and contribute ideas for refining team standards and workflows.


Client & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Participate in client meetings, support the presentation of design concepts and progress updates, and develop skills in communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support vendor and supplier coordination; assist with evaluating product data and equipment selections.
  • Build relationships with vendors and suppliers; assist with evaluating product data and coordinating equipment selections under the guidance of senior engineers.


Compliance & Innovation:

  • Ensure designs meet the currently adopted NEC edition, Washington State Energy Code (WSEC-C), local agency standards, and all applicable codes.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and tools, including new Revit add-ins, lighting design software and power study programs.



What You Bring to the Team


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program required.
  • EIT license required; or ability to obtain within 6 months.


Experience:

  • 2-5 years of progressive electrical engineering experience designing systems for commercial and industrial buildings, with project experience ranging from small tenant improvements to large (500,000 SF) facilities.
  • Demonstrated project experience across multiple market sectors, such as K-12 and higher education, advanced manufacturing and industrial, healthcare, civic/public, and mission-critical facilities.


Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) & Bluebeam.
  • Experience in Revit (MEP discipline) required, working knowledge of AutoCAD and other electrical engineering design and analysis software (e.g., AGi32, Visual, SKM, ETAP, EasyPower).
  • Working knowledge across the full electrical scope: power distribution, lighting design and controls, low-voltage and special systems, fire alarm, and building decarbonization/electrification infrastructure (EV charging, on-site generation, energy storage).
  • Understanding of Construction Standards Institute (CSI) specification format.

  • Hybrid Work Schedule: 40-44 hours per week (with occasional flex for project deadlines). In office Monday and Tuesday each week, plus two additional days of your choice each month; remaining days can be remote.
