FSC, Inc., a fast-growing land surveying and engineering firm specializing in oil & gas, energy infrastructure, and large-scale commercial projects, is seeking a high-caliber, multi-state Licensed Surveyor to step into the role of Director of Operations. This is a senior-level leadership position responsible for managing and scaling field and office operations across multiple states with a strong emphasis on quality, efficiency, compliance, and profitability.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership & Management
· Oversee all survey operations across multiple states, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and to FSC’s quality standards.
· Manage survey managers, field supervisors, project managers and CAD personnel.
· Implement systems, workflows and SOPs to increase efficiency and scalability.
· Provide high-level QA/QC and technical oversight on boundary, route, construction, as-built, oil & gas, and energy-related survey deliverables.
Field & Office Coordination
· Direct scheduling of crews, project assignments, and cross-state resource allocation.
· Work directly with project managers to streamline client communication, timelines and deliverables.
· Ensure proper equipment tracking, maintenance and utilization.
Technical & Regulatory Expertise
· Stamp and review plats, reports, exhibits, well plats, and energy-related deliverables where licensed.
· Maintain compliance with state surveying rules and regulatory bodies (TX, NM and additional states).
· Lead expansion of licensure into new markets as FSC continues geographic growth.
Financial Performance & Oversight
· Support budgeting, forecasting, and revenue planning across departments.
· Track billable performance, project margins, and department KPIs.
· Participate in pricing strategy, proposal development, and client scoping.
Team Development
· Recruit, mentor, and develop survey staff across all levels.
· Establish performance standards and accountability systems.
· Build a strong culture of ownership, urgency, and high-quality execution.
Qualifications:
Required
· Licensed Professional Surveyor in at least Texas and one additional state (New Mexico strongly preferred).
· 7 years of experience in surveying with substantial oil & gas and linear infrastructure project exposure.
· Demonstrated success in high-volume, multi-crew operations.
· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
· Expertise in Civil 3D, GIS data workflows, GNSS, conventional instruments, and modern survey technology.
Preferred
· Multi-state licensure (TX, NM, OK, CO, WY, ND, or similar).
· Experience in a Director/Manager/Regional Ops leadership capacity.
· Ability to bring or build a strong network of industry relationships.
· Strong business acumen with exposure to budgets, utilization rates, and operational metrics.
Salary : $150,000 - $180,000
