What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Loan Settlement Coordinator position at FSC First?
The Commercial Loan Settlement Coordinator is responsible for processing SBA 504, SBA 7(a), and other loan programs while coordinating the collection of required documentation from borrowers and lending partners. This role supports Loan Administration through critical closing procedures and coordination efforts to ensure government-guaranteed loans are closed in compliance with SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), FSC First policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the collection of required documentation from borrowers and lending partners to ensure complete loan files.
- Prepare SBA closing certification documents for SBA Closing Counsel.
- Reconcile equity injections and make final verification determinations.
- Order tax transcripts, UCC/Federal/State/County preliminary lien searches, appraisals, environmental reports, and other required documents.
- Ensure all pre-closing and post-closing documents are received, accurate, and complete.
- Review closing documents from attorneys to verify compliance with approved loan terms and conditions.
- Collaborate with borrowers, Underwriters, Business Development Managers, Chief Lending Officers, and attorneys to facilitate a smooth closing process.
- Prepare and process funding draw requests.
- Build and maintain electronic loan files and scan documentation into electronic systems.
- Provide administrative support to the Loan Administration Team, including recording and finalizing Loan Committee meeting minutes and preparing program reconciliation reports.
- Support organizational lending goals and objectives in collaboration with management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Business Finance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience packaging and closing SBA 504 and SBA 7(a) loans.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to travel locally and work occasional evenings for special events.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Experience with SBA, Commercial Real Estate (CRE), Commercial & Industrial (C&I), or construction lending.
- Knowledge of loan compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working with attorneys, title companies, and closing agents.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
