Responsibilities
- Design and document mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and control systems for aviation, education, civic, tribal, commercial, and federal facilities.
- Produce drawings, specifications, diagrams, 3D models, and reports that align with project goals.
- Perform calculations such as load analysis, energy modeling, and equipment sizing.
- Apply building codes, ASHRAE standards, and industry guidelines to ensure functional, compliant solutions.
- Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and team coordination efforts.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and internal teams to deliver integrated outcomes.
- Support QA/QC efforts and construction administration activities, including submittal reviews and site observations.
- Lead project documentation and mentor junior staff (mid- and senior-level roles).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across disciplines and with clients.
- Critical thinking and creativity in solving complex design challenges.
- Time management and adaptability in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
- Mentorship mindset, with a willingness to guide and support junior team members.
- Clear, professional writing and verbal communication skills.
- Initiative in identifying solutions and improving workflow efficiencies.
- Entry-Level / EIT: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, FE exam passed, 0–2 years of experience.
- Mid-Level: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, FE exam passed and actively pursuing PE licensure, 5 years of progressive experience, demonstrated ability to lead design efforts and coordinate small to mid-scale projects.
- Senior Engineer: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, active PE license, 10 years of progressive experience leading mechanical design.
- Proficiency in Revit.
- Strong understanding of building systems, documentation standards, and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Experience in sectors such as aviation, civic, commercial, tribal, mission critical, or federal work is highly valued.
