Reporting to the VP Finance & Accounting, the Accounting Manager plays a key role in the Finance department's continuity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Role and Responsibilities
- Primary manager for the monthly financial close process to ensure financial statements are generated timely and accurately.
- Review the compilation of regular monthly and reversing journal entries.
- Post cost, revenue, and cash transactions on an as-needed basis.
- Review overall balance sheet and income statements for any reporting discrepancies that require correction.
- Execute the review of monthly General Ledger account reconciliations with a particular focus on the cash accounts.
- Effectively manage cash balances to ensure availability of funds to meet disbursement needs.
- Work closely with Payroll to complete biweekly payroll disbursements.
- Engage with Accounts payable for timely cash disbursements.
- Management responsibility for tax filings.
- Lead for annual financial audit and financial statement preparation.
- Execute continuity in current procedures & policies as well as the development of new procedures.
- Administration management of Costpoint GL, Deltek T&E, and bank accounts.
- Support annual budgeting cycle.
- Point of contact for technical finance questions related to Deltek Costpoint.
Qualifications:
Minimum Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration/Management.
Skills/Qualifications Required
- Managerial experience preferred.
- Government contracting experience. T&M contract experience preferred.
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint.
- Microsoft Excel advanced level experience required.
- Extensive experience using judgment to plan and accomplish goals; analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
