FS, Inc. is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Field Service Diesel Technician to join our highly skilled team. As a Heavy Equipment Field Service Diesel Technician, you will be diagnosing, troubleshooting, and performing standard mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on equipment in the field and at our shop.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and locate mechanical deficiencies on heavy equipment diesel engines and components.
- Determine extent of necessary repairs and order parts as needed.
- Proper use of diagnostic equipment.
- Repair and/or replace all components of diesel engines hydraulic systems, air conditioning systems, suspension systems, drive trains, electrical systems, steering, braking, material handling, and operator comfort systems.
- Perform welding and brazing, fabricate and modify parts, equipment, miscellaneous structures and attachments.
- Operate equipment and vehicles with possession of all necessary licenses and certificates.
- Perform all work in accordance with established quality standards and safety procedures.
- Maintain service vehicle inspection records, daily inspections and driver logs as required by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
- Must keep truck and equipment clean and in safe working condition.
- Photograph equipment when necessary and keep excellent records of all repairs and preventative maintenance performed.
- Participate in the required safety program, and work in a safe manner.
- Maintain a clean work environment that complies with all company, OSHA, and MSHA standards.
Working Conditions
- The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside (non-climate controlled) and outside in hot/cold conditions.
- Required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to injury and/or hazardous materials.
- Job requires standing, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, lifting.
- Physical use of a wide variety of tools and machines in order to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Must be able to lift varied weights.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3 years of heavy equipment experience.
- Minimum of 4 years industry experience.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills, can set and keep priorities and be able to handle stress associated with a fast-paced environment and deadlines.
- Knowledge of complex hydraulics, electrical, computer and mechanical systems, arc and running a torch, test equipment used to diagnose and repair equipment and electronic components of vehicles.
- Ability to operate a variety of equipment safely to diagnose, adjust and repair malfunctions; follow oral and written instructions; read and understand operators and repair manuals; work cooperatively with others; work with minimal supervision and keep required records.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information- schematics, technical manuals, technical drawings, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Operate equipment and vehicles with possession of all necessary licenses and certificates.
- Ability to write service reports that effectively communicate required information in an understandable (clear and concise) method.
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and service providers.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
- Course work from accredited trade school, college or university with emphasis in mechanics, hydraulics, and automotive electronics is desirable.

Pay: $25.00 - $38.00 per hour
