About the Role
We are partnering with an innovative technology company on their search for a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Ground Systems to lead the design, development, validation, and production of critical electromechanical infrastructure. You will own mechanical systems from concept through deployment, developing reliable, production-ready solutions that enable autonomous drone operations at scale.
Working closely with electrical, software, systems, safety, operations, and manufacturing teams, you will combine engineering analysis with hands-on prototyping, testing, and field validation to bring complex products into operation.

- Lead the end-to-end mechanical design and development of ground systems supporting drone charging, payload handling, security, and environmental protection
- Translate system requirements into robust designs for enclosures, actuated mechanisms, landing interfaces, and safety-critical features
- Perform structural, vibration, and thermal analyses to ensure reliability, durability, and performance in demanding outdoor environments
- Integrate mechanical systems with charging infrastructure, power systems, cable management, and thermal management solutions
- Plan and execute laboratory and field validation activities, driving design improvements through testing and data-driven analysis
- Drive product readiness through design-for-manufacturability, supplier collaboration, production documentation, and engineering leadership
We're Excited About You Because...
- You have 7 years of mechanical engineering experience developing electromechanical systems within robotics, aerospace, automotive, industrial automation, or similar industries
- You possess strong CAD design skills using SolidWorks or equivalent tools, along with experience performing engineering analysis and FEA
- You have designed actuated mechanisms, latching systems, enclosures, and other high-reliability mechanical assemblies
- You understand environmental sealing, thermal management, and the challenges associated with outdoor product development
- You have experience integrating mechanical and electrical systems, including power distribution, batteries, charging hardware, and cable routing
- You are a hands-on engineer with strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing automated docking stations, charging systems, robotics infrastructure, or other autonomous ground-based platforms
- Background in aerospace, unmanned systems, advanced mobility, or autonomous vehicle technologies
- Familiarity with environmental qualification testing, reliability engineering, and safety-critical product development
- Experience supporting products from concept development through production launch and field deployment
- Experience working directly with suppliers, manufacturing partners, and production teams
- Previous experience mentoring engineers and leading technical design reviews within multidisciplinary organizations
