FrostCarbon is a Denver-based technology-driven carbon capture company focused on delivering scalable, modular, and cost-effective solutions to decarbonize large industrial and power generation assets. Our proprietary cryogenic capture platform is designed to support the transition to clean, reliable, 24/7 power and industrial decarbonization at climate-relevant scale.


We operate at the intersection of technology development, project execution, and infrastructure finance, working closely with power and industrial partners, hyperscalers, investors, and government stakeholders. As a fast-growing company with multiple entities, joint ventures, and first-of-a-kind projects, we place a premium on rigor, transparency, and operational excellence across all functions – including finance and accounting.

2. Position Summary


As a Senior Accountant, you will play an integral role in building a tightly knit and highly productive accounting team. You will engage directly in every facet of accounting, ranging from day-to-day transactions to month-end financials for a multi-entity company, accounting project support, and compliance support. You will be responsible for accurately completing a variety of accounting tasks on firm timelines, assuring the company’s ability to continue to support growth and meet our commitments to our staff, investors, communities, and business partners.


The accounting team meets remotely on a daily basis to review priorities and progress toward major milestones. Throughout the day, you will interface with team members as well as other departments to complete required tasks. The Senior Accountant reports directly to the Controller / CEO.

The ideal candidate will seek to master the tasks initially assigned to them while maintaining a growth mindset, stepping in to support others on the team as new responsibilities emerge. To start with, the Senior Accountant will have the following responsibilities:

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all invoice processing, including maintenance of vendors, invoice records, and reconciliations
  • Perform all invoice payment processing, including coordination of cash forecasting and funding with relevant staff
  • Reconcile the accounting system to AP aging and third-party reconciliations (eventually including AR)
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations in a timely manner, including preparation of adjusting entries
  • Perform monthly intercompany adjustment entries and related reconciliations
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet account schedules for the month-end close, including monthly adjusting, accrual, depreciation/amortization, and closing entries
  • Prepare unaudited financial statements and support preparation, analysis and reporting of audited financial statements
  • Maintain job cost accounting for projects and prepare job cost reports and reconciliations
  • Prepare periodic sales and use tax filings for multiple states, as required
  • Prepare and maintain equity roll-forward reconciliations
  • Manage the Company’s Carta platform
  • Support preparation and reconciliation of supporting schedules
  • Support budget preparation, updates, and variance analysis
  • Support cash flow forecasting and analysis
  • Support the audit process (prior audit experience is required)
  • Support multi-entity accounting and consolidation activities
  • Support review and documentation of existing accounting processes
  • Complete ad hoc assignments and special projects as required
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and continuously develop accounting knowledge

3. Qualifications & Experience


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Prior experience supporting external audits
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with complex reconciliations and schedules


Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or CPA-eligible
  • Experience in project-based, infrastructure, energy, or technology-enabled companies
  • Experience with construction-in-progress (CIP) and job cost accounting
  • Familiarity with equity accounting, cap tables, and roll-forward schedules
  • Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment
  • Experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite or similar ERP platforms


Timeline and Location

This position will begin as soon as possible, preferably in January 2025.
