Job Overview
SALARY $15,600 – 20HRS/WEEK (2 WEEKS PAID VACATION PER YEAR)
GENERAL JOB DUTIES:
The Church Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the church facilities. This includes cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, vacuuming and mopping floors, dusting and wiping surfaces, and ensuring that all areas are presentable and ready for use. The Church Custodian also assists with setting up and taking down equipment for events and activities held in the church. The Church Custodian reports directly to the Senior Pastor. Eleven paid Federal Holidays and two weeks off.
SPECIFIC WEEKLY DUTIES:
· Clean and sanitize restrooms
· Vacuum and mop floors
· Wipe, dust and polish surfaces
· Empty trash and recycling bins, set trash out for Tuesday morning collection
· Ensure that all areas are presentable and ready for use
· Assist with setting up and taking down equipment for events and activities
· Monitor church grounds, and collect any trash
· Report any maintenance, supplies or repair needs to the Pastor
· Assist with setting up and taking down tables and equipment for events and activities
· Perform other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The Church Custodian must be able to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.), stand for extended periods of time, and perform repetitive motions. The position may require bending, stooping, and reaching.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The Church Custodian position may require working in areas with cleaning chemicals and other potentially hazardous materials.
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
