POSITION SUMMARY
The Payment Posting Clerk 1 is a key function of the Accounting Department. The role of Payment Posting Clerk 1 is to quickly and accurately post all payments received by the company. Payment Posting Clerk 1 is responsible for the processing of invoices and the coding of expenses. The Payment Posting Clerk 1 will perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining account records.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs basic data entry within department systems.
- Enter payments from consumers and creditors into the company’s collection software and ensure they are posted daily.
- Ensures cash payments are posted within 24 hours of receipt.
- Ensure JIRA (Frost-Arnett Company ticketing system) tickets are completed within 48 hours of ticket created date.
- Balance and Reconcile work to ensure that all monies are posted accurately.
- Codes invoices and accounts; reconciles and researches customer information.
- Processes account transactions to ensure quality output and timely payment of invoices.
- Performs research and reconciliation functions necessary to update and maintain account information.
- Evaluate accounts for the ability to post or reject.
- Scan all new business placements that arrive daily.
- Request and Mail all reject letters daily.
- Perform other miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

- Adhere to the company and compliance guidelines.
- Assist in developing and maintaining records within the database system.
Working hours: Flexible Work Schedule, Monday – Friday
Will be required to commute to the Metro Nashville Corporate office on the first business day of the month.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one year of experience working in an office environment (Preferred).
SKILLS & ABILITIES

- Some analytical ability is required in order to gather information from consumers, find solutions and prioritize work.

- Ability to write business-related documents such as letters, emails, and other business correspondence as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee works in a temperature-controlled office environment. The employee sits at a desk during regularly scheduled work hours, answers and makes telephone calls using a standard telephone, types on a standard keyboard, and reads and comprehends information from a computer terminal and/or written resources.
