Key Responsibilities
· Develop and execute reliability test plans for cold plates, including corrosion testing, pressure cycling, shock, and environmental testing.
· Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations for leaks, material degradation, and performance issues
· Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to improve cold plate robustness and reliability
· Evaluate materials (e.g., aluminum, copper alloys, coatings) for corrosion resistance, erosion, and compatibility with coolants
· Analyze test data and field performance to identify reliability risks and recommend design improvements
· Define reliability requirements, validation criteria, and qualification standards
· Support design reviews (DFMEA, PFMEA) with a focus on thermal and mechanical reliability
· Work with suppliers to ensure component quality and reliability compliance
· Develop accelerated life testing methodologies and predictive reliability models
· Document test procedures, results, and engineering recommendations
Required Qualifications
- Master or PhD degree in mechanical, materials, physics, thermal Engineering, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in thermal/mechanical reliability testing of liquid cooling hardware or analogous HVAC/heat exchanger systems.
- Hands-on experience with cold plates (liquid cooled heat exchangers) or heat sinks in high-performance electronics environments.
- Deep understanding of reliability engineering and testing methodologies
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards (ASTM, IEC etc.) for reliability testing.
- Experience in creating or adhering to reliability qualification documentation for hyperscale products or similar use cases.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cold plates used in data centers, EVs, or power electronics
- Knowledge of coolant chemistries (e.g., water-glycol, dielectric fluids)
- Background in manufacturing processes such as brazing, welding, or additive manufacturing
