Description
As part of the Care Response Team, will respond along with a Crisis Intervention Specialist to individuals experiencing a mental health and/or substance abuse crisis following a call to 911 or 988 to and engages in non-directive and supportive relationships that promote empowerment and self-learning; provides peer counseling and consultation to individual clients, families, and team members; acts as a liaison with community resources; carries out rehabilitation and support functions; and assists in substance abuse services, education, support and consultation to families, and crisis intervention under the clinical supervision of the Program Manager
Primary responsibilities:
- Along with a licensed clinician, will assist in the completion of community-based assessments with individuals in crisis and facilitate linkage to appropriate services.
- Engage in non-judgmental, compassionate, active listening to build one-on-one connections with persons served that support a person’s preferences and emphasize the tenets of recovery.
- Provide follow-up services to those previously assessed to assure linkage to on-going providers.
This is a non-exempt, union position with a minimum-starting wage of $26.44 per hour.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- The Peer Support Specialist must meet the Ohio standards for certification as a peer supporter. Schedule:
