Scope of the Position:
The Building Maintenance Operator will oversee for the museum facility operations, maintenance, and help with projects. This role oversees preventive maintenance, repairs, and documentation for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and museum personnel. The operator serves as the primary contact for facility-related emergencies, which may require occasional evening and weekend work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily walkthroughs of museum spaces to document condition, identify maintenance needs, and initiate work orders.
- Monitor and document the operation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing
- Respond promptly to urgent facility issues, coordinating corrective actions and notifications.
- Assist the Chief Operating Officer with any projects.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and contractor work.
- Provide general support for museum events and day-to-day operations.
- Support inspections and compliance with fire, safety, ADA, and building codes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Education, Experience, and Certifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Texas driver’s license.
- Minimum 2 years of facilities or maintenance experience; museum experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to use hand tools and associated equipment.
- Knowledge of building systems (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) preferred.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
