Job Overview
We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented DOT Safety Coordinator to support our transportation safety and compliance operations. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone interested in learning DOT compliance and transportation safety. Previous DOT experience is not required, and training will be provided.The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with drivers and management, and able to keep up with documentation, deadlines, and follow-ups.
Responsibilities
- Maintain driver qualification (DQ) files and DOT documentation.
- Track driver licenses, medical cards, MVRs, and other required documents.
- Assist with FMCSA Clearinghouse requirements.
- Help coordinate drug and alcohol testing.
- Assist with new driver onboarding and qualification.
- Track document expiration dates and follow up on missing information.
- Maintain accurate safety and compliance records.
- Assist with accident and incident documentation.
- Communicate with drivers regarding compliance requirements.
- Assist with DOT audits and compliance reviews.
- Enter and maintain information in company systems.
- Provide general administrative support to the Safety department.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- No previous DOT experience required; training will be provided.
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and email.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working with drivers, employees, and management.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Dependable and willing to learn.
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
