What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Writer position at Frontier Science?
Description: The Technical Writer is responsible for preparing and maintaining documentation, including policies, procedures, work instructions, and any other relevant materials, for one or more department(s) or project(s).
Major duties and responsibilities:
- Creates and revises documentation at the request of department managers with support
- Manages the document review process and other document-related assets, such as related forms or attachments; maintains document inventory
- Works with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure content accuracy and completeness
- Versions and updates documents in the relevant document repository, Content Management System (CMS), and Learning Management System (LMS), and formally retires obsolete documents
- Prepares meeting agendas and records committee meeting minutes
- Participates in the Frontier Science Technical Writers Group
- Serves as a sub-administrator for FS Learning Management System; manages scheduling, enrollment, and attendance of training sessions in the LMS; manages Group membership
- Provides training on topics related to Technical Writing, or department topics
- May serve as an administrator for project electronic Trial Master File
- May work in the software development lifecycle for the purpose of maintaining program specifications, or writing end-user documentation
- Assists as necessary in vendor and project audits
- Other duties, as needed
Reports to: Director of Education and Training
Controls over position:
Work is assigned by organizational, project, and training and technical writing needs.
Required qualifications:
- 0-2 years of previous technical writing or related experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent writing skills and the ability to perform business writing tasks using proper English grammar
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Salary : $45,000 - $52,000
