Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of food items in accordance with established recipes and safety standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, microwaves, and food warmers
- Maintain cleanliness of the cafeteria area by cleaning tables, counters, utensils, and kitchen surfaces regularly
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Handle manual tasks such as weighing ingredients and processing cash transactions accurately using POS (Point of Sale) systems
- Assist with food handling and distribution during meal service, including serving customers in person with friendly customer service skills
- Support catering or banquet events as needed, ensuring smooth food service operations in various settings
Experience
- Previous experience in food industry roles such as cafeteria, restaurant, catering, or hospitality is highly desirable
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques and food safety management practices
- Experience operating kitchen equipment and handling weight or bulk food items safely
- Knowledge of dietary requirements and ability to accommodate special dietary needs is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse audiences
- Experience processing cash transactions accurately using POS systems is preferred
- Prior work involving manual handling or working in fast-paced environments such as banquet or catering settings will be advantageous
