SUMMARY
Project Managers are responsible for establishing and leading enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic initiatives. PMs lead a variety of different types of projects including launching new products and services, large-scale application development, systems integration, BPO arrangements, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering, and infrastructure upgrades and deployments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for managing a team of project managers, ensuring the development of the team.
- Single accountable party for defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering a given strategic initiative.
- Ensures end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and qualifiable business benefit.
- Directs large-scale, complex projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents and matrix partners.
- Accountable for one or more initiatives including business, operational, and deliverables.
- Directly manages all aspects of the project lifecycle and works with matrix IT partners to oversee all SDLC phases of a project.
- Rigorously manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed on time, cost, and quality parameters.
- Validates financial forecasts and provides on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures.
- Develops communication plans and interfaces to execute on responsibilities.
- Is responsible for scoping, designing and executing a project.
- Controls the project budget, schedule and resources.
- Does project planning and resource allocation, and leads the project team.
- Procures any software or other tools needed for the project.
- Leads problem resolution.
- Communicates progress, risks and potential changes in scope to all stakeholders.
- Assesses project change requests and coordinates change management.
- Ensures that the system fulfills the business requirements of the project.
- Oversees quality assurance and user acceptance testing.
- Serves as a subject matter expert in routinely briefing key stakeholders on different aspects of assigned initiatives.
- Represents the project in various project governance and inter-department forums.
- Chairs weekly Core Team and monthly operating committee meetings to review progress with key constituents.
- Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan.
- Develops the project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related project management artifacts.
- Publishes periodic project status reports.
- Proposes recommendations and adjustments.
- Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will have direct reports.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, marketing, business, statistics, or a related field. Certification by the Project Management Institute or similar authority. Quality program experience, such as ISO 9000, CMMI or Six Sigma implementation and assessments.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret such items as highly detailed professional, scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from both inside and outside the company. Ability to write speeches, articles or memos using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to such groups as top management, boards of directors, or the general public.
QUANTITATIVE SKILLS
Ability to have an overall understanding of Content Management. Must have attention to detail with the ability to work as part of a team. Understanding of good software development practices is required. Ability to work with and lead contract resources.
