SUMMARY
Performs various maintenance functions on equipment, facility and grounds, including basic electrical, mechanical and plumbing upkeep and repair. Communicates respectfully and honestly with others.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrates knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing best practices and code standards as it applies to the facility.
- Demonstrates knowledge of PLC’s, HMI’s and Frequency Drives-Especially the Allen Bradley Platform.
- Prioritizes, performs, and improves preventative maintenance of manufacturing facility equipment.
- Able to find mechanical/electrical defects and determine root cause of failure.
- Able to perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs-both direct current and alternating current.
- Able to work well with others to complete projects.
- Able to complete installation and fabrication projects on own or with a small group.
- Able to use manuals and other resources to research and locate equipment and parts to support production needs.
- Requests for parts and service if needed.
- Operates power and hand tools, metal fabrication equipment, forklift, welder, cutting torch, and multi-meter.
- Maintains tools and machinery in good condition and uses all tools carefully and as instructed.
- Ability to support Vision Systems and XRay (Norway).
- Must be able to utilize the Maintenance Management software.
- Strives to reduce waste, recycle products whenever possible, and re-use resources when practical.
- Works safely at all times, follows safety rules and policies and participates in scheduled training.
- Reports injuries and near misses promptly and in required detailed format; proposes corrective action.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities (Hiring, Firing, Performance Reviews etc.) but, will prioritize work and confirm completion by other team members and manage outside contractors as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Industrial maintenance experience of at least 5 years in a related field: or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have an active driver’s license and to be qualified to operate a vehicle on company business the following eligibility requirements must be met for some locations & positions.
- Be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
- Have a valid driver's license issued by the state of residence.
- Have no Class 1 or more than three Class 2 violations (see Fleet Safety Program) within the past 60 months.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple notices and instructions, including operating procedures and safety rules. Ability to clearly articulate job task requirements, vendor request, contractors needs and internal electronic communications and documentation.
QUANTITATIVE SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools, and practices used in building, electrical, and mechanical trades, and of related occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Attention to detail, good organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- A strong understanding of computer software systems to successfully navigate and maintain the sites CMMS system.
- Proven ability to systematically troubleshoot equipment issues, perform documented causal analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
- Proven ability to maintain design integrity of OEM equipment while performing maintenance.
- Demonstrate understanding of Equipment Reliability principles. (80/20 rule)
- Demonstrate the ability to continuously improve PM effectiveness.
- Demonstrate ability to manage maintenance activities including prioritization, critical spare management, and scheduling.
- Demonstrate ability to provide status reports, support metric reporting and overall communications of maintenance activities.
- Demonstrate ability to apply critical thinking to problem solving and Root Cause Analysis to identify corrective actions counter measures.
