Electrical/Power Electronics and Analog Circuit Design Engineer:
This employee is responsible for designing, testing, and troubleshooting analog, digital, and mixed signal circuits—including power supplies and power controllers—for use in ruggedized military and space-qualified products. You will support initial proposal concept development to meet customer specifications, design and develop electronic subsystems, prototype and support manufacture and testing of the first article product, including qualification analysis and testing. You will also assist on-site production personnel as the product enters initial and reaches full-rate production. You will usually work in program teams with colleagues across other technical disciplines, but also must be a self-starter with ability to develop concept designs based on technical specifications.
What Will You Do?
- Design electronic hardware incorporating microprocessors and analog and digital circuits
- Utilize power magnetics core design and application knowledge
- Perform trade study analysis, tolerance analysis, and simulations to support design accuracy using mathematical modeling and SPICE-based tools
- Perform worst case circuit calculations and analysis (tolerance, stress and FMEA analysis)
- Create schematics and provide PCB layout support using Altium
- Breadboard, prototype, and verify analog and digital circuits
- Support thermal design and efficiency calculations
- Generate design documentation and test procedures, and collect and document verification/validation results
- Ensure compliance to EMI/EMC standards and support certification testing
What Will You Need?
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Engineering Technology
- 5 years equivalent experience
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles
- Eligibility to obtain security clearance
Work Environment:
- Normal office environment
- Expected hours 8:00am - 5:00pm
Essential Physical Functions:
- Sitting for long periods of time
- Occasional lifting (up to 75 pounds).
- Ability to see details at close range.
- Ability to determine color.
