We are now hiring for a Agronomy Seed Coordinator based out of our Lincoln, NE corporate office. This position is being offered as full-time with benefits.
Under the direction of the Crop Protection and Seed Procurement Manager, the Seed Coordinator will coordinate all aspects of seed operations, including inventory, quality control, order fulfillment, and related logistics. This position will ensure accurate records, maintain a well-organized seed room, and collaborate with other teams to meet customer needs. The role at times may involve physical tasks like receiving, treating, and preparing seeds for shipment, as well as data management and reporting.
Essential duties:
- Responsible for overseeing stock, including tracking incoming and outgoing inventory, managing storage and handling, maintaining quality, conducting regular audits and using inventory software to ensure accuracy. Oversee that seed inventory is reconciled at the end of the year and all seed orders are invoiced timely. Expected to maintain product knowledge through education and field days.
- Coordinates seed ordering for the entire company in a timely manner. Receives and does inventory control on all seed orders and makes final preparations for seed orders to match the customer orders. Coordinate with other business units (e.g., Operations, Procurement) regarding availability and timelines and address any issues related to seed orders. Handles the return of seed and seed related products for the entire company. Handles seed dumps, the return of seed and seed related products for the entire company.
- Responsible for making sure our seed treatment facilities and employees are following any relevant regulations. Make sure our seed application equipment works correctly for the best customer experience. Has the ability to train new employees in the proper way to operate the seed treaters.
- Keeping the seed rooms clean, organized, and safe, and ensuring all equipment is properly maintained. Responsible for making sure seed treaters are cleaned and calibrated each season per the Frontier Safety policy.
- Generating reports on inventory, seed needs, order fulfillment status, and communicating this information to relevant teams. Works with seed locations to make sure seed is invoiced out in a timely and accurate manner to meet reporting requirements of the manufacturers.
- Addressing any issues that arise with seed orders, inventory, or seed room operations.
- Working with other business units on customer service, purchasing, and production, to ensure efficient seed operations.
- Communicate key timelines to the appropriate business units to ensure everyone is aligned to deadlines and schedules to prevent delays.
- Assures all Seed customers have current Technology licenses for seed purchases.
- Works with the Seed Sellers and the Manufacturer DSMs to find seed that may be hard to find on allocation.
- Works with the Manufacturer representatives to forecast seed needs for the upcoming year.
- Assists in providing marking materials for Website and Frontier Connect.
- Assists in developing the Seed Program for the year, and deployment into the market.
- Organize and help facilitate in field training days with our seed partners for our Ag Advisors.
Job skills and requirements:
- Knowledge of seed products and how they work in the field.
- Understanding of seed types, storage requirements, and quality control procedures.
- Experience with inventory tracking, record-keeping, and cycle counting
- Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry, record management, and report generation
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, and other business units.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy in seed handling, record-keeping, and order fulfillment.
- Ensuring standards of health, safety, and security to customers, vendors, and employees by establishing company safety standards and regulations; ensuring all company employees have been properly trained and adhere to OSHA, EPA, DOT, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or agricultural experience.
