We are now hiring for an Agronomy Location Manager for our Oconee, NE location. This position is being offered as full-time with benefits.
Essential duties:
- Works in collaboration with Regional Operations Manager and Ag Advisors to develop market plans for new customers and to retain current customers, keeps current with new agronomy products, may oversee the management of a retail store, dry or liquid fertilizer plant, and a feed and seed warehouse.
- Recommend strategic operational goals to the Regional Operations Manager by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information. Defines objectives and develops a plan of action, implements plan of action, and evaluates outcomes.
- Maintains quality service by enforcing customer service standards, analyzing and resolving customer service complaints or problems, working with customers to evaluate and promote improved products and expanded services in trade territory area.
- Reconciles daily reports for cash sales slips and credit card charges, performs internal and external bank deposits, bills customers for services or products, collects and credits customer accounts after payments received.
- Manage inventory levels by ordering, receiving, and performing stock additions on bagged seed, fertilizers and chemicals, general merchandise, bagged pet, or livestock feed.
- Manages and oversees the proper working order and condition of vehicles, machinery, equipment, building and grounds. Ensure all vehicles, equipment and machinery are cleaned to prolong safe and quality operation and to promote a positive image for the company.
- May be called upon to perform general vehicle, machinery, and equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Monitors leaks or spillage of anhydrous ammonia onto the ground or air and properly manages the clean-up and disposal, which may involve being directed by the Regional Manager to contact an emergency management team.
- Act as a back-up to an Operations Specialist or Operations Associate by completing the anhydrous ammonia preparation and transfer process for producers.
- Ensuring standards of health, safety, and security to customers, vendors, and employees by following all company safety standards and regulations by adhering to OSHA, EPA, state, and federal safety regulations.
Job skills and requirements:
- This position must have knowledge, skills and abilities in operational management, business management, accounting and budgets, project management, and quality management.
- Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong mentoring and coaching experience and the ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers.
- Ability to write routine to complex reports and correspondence, exceptional oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and able to communicate verbally or in writing instructions, directions, and assignments.
- Perform basic math computations. Such as add, subtract, multiply, divide, proportions, percentages, and volume and prepare and interpret spreadsheets and graphs.
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
- Requires a valid operator’s license and forklift certification, prefer a CDL Class A license with HazMat and Tanker endorsements and/or can obtain these special requirements within 60 days of employment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related fields preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or agricultural experience.
