Duties
- Assess patient respiratory status by monitoring vital signs, blood gases, and lung function tests to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced respiratory equipment including ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, and other respiratory devices.
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments such as aerosolized medications, chest physiotherapy, and airway clearance procedures.
- Manage airway interventions during emergency situations like cardiac arrest or respiratory distress, including neonatal resuscitation procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to evaluate patient progress and modify therapy protocols accordingly.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with hospital policies.
- Respond swiftly to acute care needs in critical environments such as ICU, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Level I/II trauma centers, providing expert ventilator management and airway support.
Experience
- Proven experience working in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), or neonatal units with a focus on critical care environments.
- Demonstrated proficiency in ventilator management, airway management techniques, and use of medical equipment related to respiratory therapy.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate patient documentation and data management.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pulmonology, and medical terminology relevant to respiratory care.
- Previous outpatient or clinic experience in pulmonology or geriatrics is advantageous.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) are preferred.
- Experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers, pediatric units, or outpatient clinics enhances your candidacy for this role.
