Join a mission-driven team providing disability evaluations for U.S. Veterans in a structured, low-volume clinical setting. This is an examination-only position focused on completing comprehensive eye evaluations for Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) disability claims. There is no treatment, prescribing, refractions, surgery, or follow-up care required.
Schedule
- Full-time
- Monday – Friday
- Daytime schedule
- 1–5 Veteran exams per day
- No nights, weekends, or on-call responsibilities
Compensation
- $800 per day
- Consistent Monday–Friday schedule
- Predictable patient volume
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations for Veterans Disability (C&P) evaluations
- Complete standardized electronic medical documentation
- Review medical history and conduct objective eye assessments
- No refractions, treatment, prescribing, or ongoing patient care
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree
- Active Maryland Optometry License
- Basic EMR proficiency
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Professional and compassionate approach when working with Veterans
