Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on tractor-trailers, including brake systems, suspensions, transmissions, and hydraulic components
- Assist with repairs involving diesel engines, air brakes, steering systems, and electrical systems using hand tools and power tools
- Conduct tire services such as replacement, rotation, and alignment to ensure optimal vehicle performance
- Support fabrication tasks like welding and assembling parts for equipment repairs or modifications
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed to ensure compliance with safety standards
Requirements
- Prior experience or familiarity with service environments is a plus but not required; we provide training for entry-level candidates eager to learn.
- Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including transmissions, hydraulics, suspension, and electrical components.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools confidently.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an eye for detail when troubleshooting issues.
- Physical ability to lift heavy parts or equipment safely during maintenance tasks
- Willingness to learn about heavy truck repair techniques such as diesel engine diagnostics, HVAC systems on vehicles, tire service procedures, and more.
