SUMMARY: The Accountant plays a vital role in supporting the financial operations of client organizations. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budgeting and reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining accurate and timely financial records. Accounting duties include, but are not limited to:
Accounting
- Maintain accurate records of accounts, including receivables and payables.
- Reconcile bank statements and liability accounts regularly.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures with general journal entries.
- Assist in preparing company financial reports and summaries for management.
- Ensure all financial data is categorized correctly for reporting and compliance.
- Create custom financial reports using Excel
Accounts Payable
- Review and process vendor bills, ensuring accuracy and timely payment.
- Maintain positive relationships with vendors and respond to billing inquiries.
- Prepare checks and electronic payments for approval and distribution.
- Track recurring payments such as rent, insurance, and benefits.
Accounts Receivable
- Create invoices of varying complexity
- Prepare and process invoices.
- Process and track incoming payments from third-party sources and partners.
- Follow up on outstanding balances with professionalism and tact.
- Prepare and make bank deposits; record transactions accurately.
- Maintain AR Reports.
Administrative & Support Duties
- Support the Leadership team with special projects.
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems.
- Perform general office duties including copying, scanning, and form creation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED required; degree in accounting, business administration or related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably in an internal finance role.
Skills and Knowledge
- Proficiency in Desktop and Online QuickBooks.
- Proficiency in Excel
- Proficiency in AP Accounting Software; bill.com and RAMP preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and relevant regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, etc.).
