What are the responsibilities and job description for the Race Engineer Support position at Front Row Motorsports?
Position Overview
This role supports all three of Front Row Motorsports’ NASCAR Cup series teams in preparation for weekly events. The motivated individual that fills this role will contribute to our constant pursuit of improved performance. This is an entry level position that provides a great opportunity to enter the sport of NASCAR and advance within a competitive organization.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review all available car build, setup, strategy and on-track data from prior events
- Compile data on a weekly basis to assist race engineers and crew chiefs in decision making
- Document all pertinent information from a race weekend for future review
- Support races remotely to assist with strategy, fuel mileage calculations and overall awareness
- Attend driver-in-the loop (DiL) simulator sessions
- Attend some races in support of race engineers as a means of gaining experience for future advancement
- Attend any track test sessions that Front Row Motorsports participates in
- Work with engineers in other departments such as design, aero and metrology to collectively improve performance
- Run simulation and compile comparison reports
- Operate in a team environment and work well with a mixed group of individuals possessing varying talents
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
- Proficient computer skills
- Basic understanding of vehicle dynamics
- Ability to work a flexible schedule in a demanding environment
- Ability to think and react fast in a stressful environment
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Clear communication and teamwork skills
