Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Utility Locator with a strong safety mindset and proven field expertise to join our growing team. This is a hands-on field position responsible for accurately locating and marking underground utilities for private locate requests across the Denver metro and Front Range area.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and efficient private utility locates using electromagnetic, ground penetrating radar (GPR), and other locating equipment
- Read and interpret utility maps, as-builts, and construction plans
- Mark underground utilities (electric, gas, water, sewer, telecom, fiber, etc.)
- Complete and submit accurate job documentation, including photos, sketches, and digital reports
- Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and project teams on-site, while coordinating with the office for scheduling and job details
- Work safely on active construction sites and in various weather conditions
- We value accuracy, clear documentation, and consistent communication on every job
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a utility locator
- Strong knowledge of underground utility systems (electric, gas, water, sewer, telecommunications)
- Proficiency with standard locating equipment (e.g., RD, Vivax, Subsite, etc.) and GPR is a plus
- Ability to read utility maps and construction drawings
- Valid Colorado driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Willingness to travel within the Denver metro / Front Range area
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High school diploma or GED required
