Position Summary
We’re seeking an experienced Construction Scheduler to support infrastructure projects at the Throgs Neck Bridge. The ideal candidate brings expertise in construction scheduling, project sequencing, and critical path management for civil and bridge projects. You’ll develop, maintain, and update project schedules, monitor progress, and coordinate with project teams to ensure milestones and deadlines are met across multiple simultaneous projects.
This role is expected to begin shortly after contract award.
Job Type: Full-time, Contract (Expected Duration: 49 months)
Start Date: Approximately 1 month from posting
Pay: Competitive, based on experience
Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday (may require occasional night/weekend work)
Work Location: On-site at the Throgs Neck Bridge, NY
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for TN-9A/TN-9P, TN-9H, TNM-405, and TNM-407.
- Monitor project progress and update schedules to reflect actual work completed.
- Identify critical path activities and potential schedule risks; propose mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, contractors, and MTA C&D representatives to ensure schedule alignment.
- Assist in planning construction phasing, sequencing, and resource allocation.
- Prepare and submit schedule reports, including progress updates, forecasts, and any delays.
- Review contractor schedules for completeness, logic, and compliance with contract requirements.
- Support pre-construction planning, construction monitoring, and project closeout activities through schedule analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction scheduling for civil, bridge, or transit infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of critical path method (CPM) scheduling and construction sequencing.
- Ability to analyze complex schedules, identify risks, and provide recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with project teams and contractors.
Preferred:
- Experience with bridge rehabilitation, structural painting, or approach substructure projects.
- Familiarity with MTA C&D project standards, reporting, and construction protocols.
- Experience in integrating multiple project schedules into a master program schedule.
Other:
- Ability to work in field and office conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional site visits.
