What are the responsibilities and job description for the PATIENT LIAISON position at Fromers Eye Centers?
Summary: The Patient Liaison works with patients and their families to address concerns or special needs that may arise during their course of treatment within the medical office setting. This Patient Liaison works directly with various members of the healthcare team, and administration to solve problems that patients and their families may have with the goal of ensuring a positive patient experience during their time in our office.
Essential Functions:
- Be knowledgeable with using all the equipment in the front office
- Performing the daily functions of a front desk receptionist
- Provide coverage and back up in other offices as needed
- Perform patient check-in and check-out office process; as well as opening and closing procedures
- Adhere to all the policies and procedures outlined in the employee manual.
- Be an ongoing resource and role model for the staff.
- Assist patients, family members or other clients with concern and empathy; respect their confidentiality and privacy and communicate with them in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Follow proper reporting procedures for actual or potential accidents and/or incidents so follow-up and/or prevention can occur.
- Record/report the need for service maintenance or repair of equipment and remove any faulty equipment from service to the lead/supervisor
- Provide regular updates to your supervisor
- Participate in continuing education.
- Must be punctual and have great attendance; come in early and stay late if needed include covering when someone is out sick or there is an emergency.
- Attend meetings on an adhoc basis.
- Communicate regularly with their lead/supervisor about any issues
- Promote a positive work environment.
- Communicate regularly with the physicians about changes in the office that affect the daily schedule.
- Proactively anticipate issues and identify alternatives to problems that may arise in the office.
- Be flexible with the work schedule to meet the needs of the practice.
- Exercise sound judgment in decision making; requires minimum supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma
- Experience in health care industry– minimum 1 year
- Knowledgeable in health insurances
- Must be bilingual in Spanish
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience in the ophthalmology industry
