SYNOPSIS

It’s been 25 years since Debbie, Cara and Lucy have seen each other, and 25 years since Debbie has left her house. But don’t worry, Debbie hasn't been alone, Debbie has her dolls. A high school reunion like no other, Debbie, Cara and Lucy try to make sense of strange occurrences throughout their lives, and figure out if an all consuming calling to return to Debbie’s house has to do with that demon they tried to summon senior year.

The play is the centerpiece of a queer Halloween-themed theatrical event spent at Theatrelab in their Atelier and Gallery spaces. The first hour takes place in the Gallery starting with a haunted artist market featuring local queer artists/orgs before the show opens. The show takes place in the Atelier and is followed by a chill kickback with music for audiences to relax or pregame their next spot, creating a full night out on the town including theatre and community.

DEBBIE: A woman with a large collection of dolls. 42 years old.

CARA: A wine enthusiast. 43 years old.

LUCY: a documentary filmmaker. 42 years old. (precast)

Cara - Any race, puppetry and/or stage combat experience preferred

Lucy - Black, this role is precast.

TIMELINE & FEE

• A preview reading to be presented in late August 2026 (exact date and time based on performer availability)
• Rehearsal and tech period September 21-October 21, 2026 (exact rehearsal schedule will be based on performer availability, there will be no weekend rehearsals)
• 16 performances over three weeks, running from October 21 through November 7, 2026.

This is a stipend-only position with a fee of $600.

Note: We encourage all performers to submit, especially those who identify as part of the LGBTQ community. For all roles, the identity of the character need not match the identity of the performer. However, we especially welcome those who connect with and are excited to portray the stories of the identities represented in the casting breakdown.
