I am looking for a female DSP to work with a female client with mild intellectual disability.

Schedule is Monday 8:30am to 1:30pm and Friday 8:30am to 1:30pm

Must have vehicle with valid insurance and registration

Must have 1 year caregiving experience

Can start immediately after completing online trainings

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, and nutrition
• Support behavioral health needs through positive behavior management strategies
• Facilitate communication using various methods such as American Sign Language (ASL) when applicable
• Provide transportation and driving support for community outings or appointments
• Collect and document data related to progress, behaviors, and care plans accurately and consistently
• Administer medications following prescribed protocols and ensure safety standards are maintained
• Engage in caregiving activities that promote social skills, independence, and overall well-being

Skills

• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or other disabilities
• Strong understanding of special education principles and behavioral health practices
• Proficiency in behavior management techniques to support positive outcomes
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members
• Ability to drive safely and responsibly for community outings or appointments
• Knowledge of medication administration procedures and documentation requirements
• Compassionate caregiving approach with a focus on empowering individuals toward independence
