From The Heart Home Care is hiring immediately for a dependable, compassionate, and engaging caregiver for a special needs childcare assignment in Lexington, SC.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and understands that special needs care requires patience, consistency, active engagement, and the ability to follow established routines.

This is not a position where the caregiver simply sits with the child. We need someone who will interact, engage, encourage appropriate independence, and provide attentive one-on-one support throughout the shift.

$150 SIGN-ON BONUS

Schedule

Part-Time Special Needs Childcare

Specific days and shift times will be discussed during the interview process based on the client's authorized schedule and current staffing needs.

Client Care & Responsibilities

• Provide attentive one-on-one care and supervision
• Actively engage and interact with the child throughout the shift
• Follow established daily routines and structure
• Encourage age-appropriate and ability-appropriate activities
• Assist with activities of daily living as needed
• Provide personal care assistance as required by the individual care plan
• Assist with snacks and meal routines
• Encourage communication and social interaction
• Provide appropriate redirection when needed
• Encourage independence while providing appropriate support
• Participate in activities rather than providing passive supervision
• Maintain a safe, positive, and structured environment
• Follow all established family routines and the client's individual plan of care
• Communicate concerns, changes, or important information appropriately with the family and office

Special Needs Experience

Previous experience working with children with special needs or developmental disabilities is strongly preferred.

What We're Looking For

• Experience working with children preferred
• Special needs/developmental disability experience strongly preferred
• Professional caregiving/PCA experience is a plus
• Dependability and consistent attendance are REQUIRED
• Patient, caring, compassionate, and professional
• Comfortable providing one-on-one care to a child
• Able to actively participate in activities and routines
• Comfortable following established behavioral, communication, and care strategies
• Able to provide personal care assistance when required
• Must have your own reliable personal vehicle
• Must be able to reliably commute to Lexington, SC
• MUST BE A CURRENT SOUTH CAROLINA RESIDENT
• Ability to pass required background screening
