About the Position
We are seeking an Experienced Tree Climber to join our team. The ideal candidate will have advanced climbing skills, strong knowledge of tree care practices, and a commitment to safe work procedures. This role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a high-performing crew.
Responsibilities:
- Safely climb trees using ropes, harnesses, and other climbing equipment
- Perform tree trimming, pruning, removal, and cabling/bracing as needed
- Operate chainsaws, hand saws, and other power equipment safely and effectively
- Inspect trees for health, structure, and hazards, providing recommendations to the crew leader
- Follow all company and industry safety protocols (ANSI, OSHA)
- Assist with ground operations, including chipping brush, rigging, and site cleanup
- Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of professional tree climbing experience
- Strong knowledge of tree care techniques, rigging, and safety practices
- Ability to climb using both rope and saddle and/or spurs where appropriate
- Proficiency with chainsaws and other tree care equipment
- ISA Certified Arborist or Tree Worker Climber Specialist (preferred, not required)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL a plus)
- Strong work ethic and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Team player with excellent communication skills
What we Offer:
- Competitive salary (based on experience) The anticipated salary range for this role is $29 to $40 per hour. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities. From the Ground Up will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
