What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant Assistant Teacher (Full Time) position at From Cradles to Crayons, First Christian Church?
From Cradles to Crayons, an early childcare center at First Christian Church, is currently hiring a Full-time Assistant Teacher in the infant classroom. The hours required for the position are 8 hour shifts Monday-Friday (8am-5:30pm) with the ability to work flexible shifts.
Candidates must be caring, nurturing, enthusiastic and have a passion for working with young children in addition to meeting KDHE Licensing requirements as outlined below.
The specific details of this position will vary according to the current needs of the program.
- Ensure safety of all children
- Communicate daily with other classroom teachers and the Director
- Monitor children’s progress
- Communicate with parents
- Participate in team meetings
- Support other team members
- Develop caring and supportive relationships with all children and their families
- Monitor classroom attendance
- Follow developmentally appropriate practices to nurture all areas of a child’s growth and development
- Care for environment
- Consistently contribute to the team teaching philosophy by educating yourself to the individual needs and personalities of the children
Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Six months – in state licensed child care facility with written proof and
10 hours of KDHE approved professional development/training
or
Three semester hours of academic credit or equivalent training in child development or early childhood education and three months experience in licensed facility
or
Child Development associate credential
Required Initial Certifications and Training: (or completed 30 days of hire)
Pediatric CPR/First Aid certified -renewed every 2 years
Child Abuse and Neglect Training
KDHE Initial Training in Early Childhood health and environment safety
KDHE Licensing Requirements:
Health Assessment
Negative TB test
Pass KBI background check
Ability to complete required health and safety and child development training and 1st Aid/CPR certification
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.50 - $14.50 per hour
