Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, slicers, and fryers
- Follow food safety protocols and handle ingredients with care to ensure cleanliness and hygiene
- Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients in advance and maintaining proper portion control
- Maintain a clean and organized work station by adhering to cleaning schedules and sanitation standards
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and timing
- Support food handling procedures during meal prep, plating, and service to ensure quality standards are met
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food service environment or restaurant setting is highly preferred
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and food preparation methods
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production and food handling practices
- Experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide roles is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within the kitchen team
- Familiarity with culinary techniques, menu planning, and catering operations is advantageous
