Role Description The Senior Mechanical Project Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in SF, Seattle, NY, Dallas or Chicago. This role is responsible for leading the mechanical engineering aspects of complex design and development projects, from early concept through detailed design, prototyping, testing, and transition to production or implementation. Day-to-day work includes creating and reviewing mechanical designs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, coordinating with external partners and vendors, and ensuring that project scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards are met. The Senior Mechanical Project Engineer will oversee technical documentation, perform design reviews and risk assessments, and guide junior engineers to deliver solutions that are robust, manufacturable, and aligned with client needs. The role also involves engaging with clients to understand requirements, present engineering solutions, and support decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong core engineering skills in Mechanical Engineering and Project Engineering, with experience leading complex technical projects.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling, detailed drawings, and design optimization.
- Candidates should possess Project Management capabilities, including planning, scheduling, resource coordination, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems, including integration of mechanical designs with electrical and plumbing infrastructure.
- Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, and experience in product development or building systems engineering.
- Additional beneficial skills include familiarity with manufacturing processes, materials selection, prototyping methods, testing and validation, and design for reliability and sustainability.
