Pharmacy Technician/Inventory Control Certified Job Duties:
Under the general supervision of a pharmacist is responsible for coordinating the purchasing, receipt, storage, and distribution of medication and pharmaceutical supplies. Is responsible for verifying, pricing, stocking, rotating, dispensing, and inventory of supplies. Utilizes experienced based knowledge to prepare purchase orders from suppliers, reviews all stock requisitions, negotiates with vendors regarding adjustments for incorrect orders and recommends changes in inventory levels. Reports directly to the Pharmacy Department Head and works under the direction of the Pharmacist-on-duty.
- Maintains the inventory of medications and pharmaceutical supplies at acceptable levels. Initiates the purchase of required supplies by available methods. Requisitions items from stores and are responsible for their placement.
- Coordinates and oversees the medication procurement process through the automated ordering system. Reviews order process for bid and contract process.
- Continually analyzes the inventory levels of medication and pharmaceutical supplies to: ensure normal levels are adequate; ensure that all medications that are recalled or outdated are removed from inventory and evaluate and recommend more precise inventory levels and items based upon: reorder time, price, contract, utilization rates, etc.
Pharmacy Technician/Inventory Control Certified Minimum Requirements:
- High School or Equivalent (GED)
- Entry Level
- Wisconsin pharmacy technician license is required.
- Previous Pharmacy Technician experience, OR experience in the purchasing aspects of a pharmacy, OR enrollment or completion of a formalized technician training program is preferred.
- Must have knowledge of pharmacy technology. Must exhibit a working knowledge of drug names, doses, strengths, formulations and directions for use.
Salary Range: $18.00 to $27.50/hr (based on experience)
