Shift Details: 8-430pm M-F Holidays: rotating Weekends: rotating
Job Summary:
Serves in the lead capacity for the Nuclear Medicine Department. Provides guidance and technical assistance, calculating and administering radioactive materials for a variety of imaging procedures; monitors adherence to guidelines for record keeping and quality control; interacts effectively with imaging and medical/clinical staff, patients and other customers. Provides constructive direction and support to nuclear medicine interns. Serves in a formal preceptor role to onboard new employees. Demonstrates flexibility and assists with scheduling and staffing including weekend, holidays and call coverage (where applicable). Performs other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
Minimum of three years SPECT imaging experience is required. Five years of SPECT imaging experience is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Graduate from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology is required. Bachelors degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Ability and demonstrated competence in IV insertion. Must have comprehensive knowledge of nuclear medicine exams including but not limited to techniques, principles, equipment, and rationale behind the procedures performed. Must be able to guide and supervise.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
Certification through the NMTCB or ARRT is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
