Job Summary:
The Licensed Athletic Trainer provides comprehensive athletic health care in accordance with an evaluation and treatment protocol that is established by the athletic trainer and approved by the consulting physician. The athletic training services include: injury or illness prevention programs; evaluation, management, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries or illness sustained during physical activity; and giving emergency care or first aid for an injury or illness sustained while participating in physical activity. The Licensed Athletic Trainer participates in other department activities designed to enhance patient/athlete care and programs. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited Athletic Training program or a related field is required.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
State of Wisconsin licensure as an Athletic Trainer is required. Certification as an Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC) is required. American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
