Role Description
The Operations & Events Manager is a part time, on site role based in Ann Arbor, MI. This role is responsible for overseeing both the operational backbone of the business and the execution of weekly market events.
You will work closely with the founder to manage inventory systems, coordinate team operations, and lead the full event experience, from planning and setup to execution and breakdown. This includes vendor coordination, team management, and ensuring every event meets Michigan Vintage Market’s visual and experiential standards.
This is a hands on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in fast paced, creative environments and is excited to help scale a growing brand.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage inventory systems (tagging, storage, tracking sold items, event materials)
• Oversee customer data collection and email list accuracy
• Run weekly team meetings (create presentations, track tasks, align team initiatives)
• Track team performance and ensure accountability across all roles
• Lead market events (often Fridays, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
• Oversee full event setup, presentation, and breakdown
• Ensure all visual elements (racks, signage, displays) meet brand standards
• Coordinate and support vendors before and during events
• Maintain strong relationships with venues and external partners
• Handle on site problem solving and conflict resolution
• Assist with event features (flowers, stickers, special activations)
• Work closely with the founder on operations and growth initiatives

Compensation is performance based, with strong upside tied directly to event revenue and operational impact.
