Step into a day where packaging and processing lines hum because of you. As an Industrial Controls and Automation Electrician on our Cedar Rapids Plant team, you’ll work independently to keep complex equipment running, dive deep into root causes, and prevent the next stoppage before it happens.
What your day looks like
- Install, maintain, and improve electrical controls and systems across a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Diagnose and resolve issues on Allen‑Bradley components and PLC platforms using Logix 5000, SLC 500, PLC‑5, and other Rockwell Software tools.
- Regularly engage with industrial controls, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, metal detectors, weighing and temperature controllers, feeders, extrusion, material transport, and mixing systems.
- Service and repair 120/208V and 277/480V systems; assist with 13,800V electrical distribution when needed.
- Troubleshoot quickly and methodically to eliminate root causes and reduce future downtime.
- Proven success in a team setting with strong communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis and complex machinery troubleshooting.
- Associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance or 5 years of relevant experience (required).
- Commitment to safety, including LOTO and safe work practices (required).
- Hands-on proficiency with Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley software, PLCs, and HMIs (preferred).
- Familiarity with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) is a plus.
Ability to work on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts and to support a 12‑hour alternating work schedule.
