Facilitate the efficient operation of the Counseling and Guidance Office.
Education/Certification
High school diploma or GED
Some college preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills
Ability to use personal computer and software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database
Proficient skills in typing, word processing, and file maintenance
Effective communications and interpersonal skills
Basic math skills
Ability to meet established deadlines and maintain accurate records
Effective organizational skills with the ability to plan and execute several duties at one time
Knowledge of high school credits, degree plans, and transcripts preferred
Experience
Minimum of one year of secretarial/clerical support experience, preferably in a public education environment
Assist with the general tasks of the counseling office.
Assume responsibility for correspondence generated from the counseling office.
Assume responsibility for the organization, operation, and distribution of work, especially with the student aides, in the counseling office.
Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages and route to appropriate staff.
Send correspondence to teachers, administrators, parents, etc.
Prepare correspondence, forms, reports, etc. for the Counselor and other department staff using the computer proficiently.
Prepare instructional materials, meeting agendas, honor rolls, scheduling information, and campus communications as requested.
Maintain department files.
Maintain confidentiality.
Prepare and maintain all records dealing with students as required by TEA and Frisco ISD.
Receive, store, and order basic office supplies.
Assume responsibility for acquiring the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for fulfilling duties.
