POSITION SUMMARY
The Music Teacher delivers K–5 music instruction in alignment with the Colorado Academic Standards for Music. The teacher cultivates musical literacy, vocal and instrumental skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and deliver music lessons aligned to all four CAS Music strands: Perform, Create, Respond, and Connect.
- Differentiate instruction across K–5 grade levels to meet students' developmental and linguistic needs.
- Teach rhythm, melody, harmony, form, and notation using age-appropriate methods and classroom instruments.
- Prepare and direct students in school performances and community events.
- Assess student progress using formative and summative methods; use data to guide instruction.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to support cross-curricular learning.
- Collaborate with other specials teachers during PLCs and PD.
- Communicate with families regarding student growth and school events.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Colorado CDE teaching license with Music (K–12) or Elementary Education endorsement.
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field.
- Knowledge of Colorado Academic Standards for Music.
