Job Summary And Qualifications
Performs a variety of routine and complex laboratory diagnostic tests used in the analysis, diagnosis and treatment of disease. Tests specimens completely and accurately within established timeframes and according to procedures.
What qualifications you will need:
Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Scientist or related field; MT(ASCP)/MLS(ASCP) eligible or equivalent for Technologist. Copy of academic degree or transcript required. General learning ability needed to learn, understand and apply knowledge in Biology, Chemistry and other clinical lab specialties needed to perform standardized tests on blood, urine and other body fluids, using medical reagent kits and instrumentation that identifies the presence of disease. Verbal ability needed to read and understand written procedures that explain testing procedures used to properly perform each task. Eye-Hand coordination and finger dexterity needed to operate specific pipetting and other equipment, and to input test result data into computer. Color vision required to identify hue of specimens and when performing chemical color testing.
