Frigo Orthodontics is a polished, fast-paced, patient-focused practice dedicated to exceptional results and high-quality orthodontic care. We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Orthodontic Laboratory Technician to support our high-volume clinic through precise appliance fabrication, 3D printing, and occasional patient care.
Position Overview
The Orthodontic Laboratory Technician is responsible for creating accurate orthodontic appliances, managing 3D prints, and maintaining an organized and efficient lab workflow. This role also includes direct patient interaction, such as fitting and adjusting retainers or delivering appliances when needed.
This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong hands-on skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment with regular overtime.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- 7:45 AM – 5:00 PM
- Regular and consistent overtime required
Key Responsibilities:
Orthodontic Lab Fabrication
- Pour and trim models with precision
- Operate and maintain 3D printers and related software
- Fabricate removable retainers (essix retainers)
- Create accurate indirect bonding trays for bracket placement
- Bend and fabricate fixed bonded retainers (lingual wires)
- Ensure appliances meet the practice’s high-quality standards and timelines
Patient Interaction (as needed)
- Fit, adjust, and polish retainers or appliances
- Deliver retainers to patients confidently and professionally
- Communicate respectfully with patients regarding comfort and fit
- Assist the clinical team with appliance-related needs
Lab Quality Control & Organization
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient lab environment
- Track and manage case flow to ensure timely delivery
- Perform routine maintenance on lab and printing equipment
- Maintain accurate records of prints, cases, and appliances
- Communicate effectively with the clinical team regarding timelines and adjustments
Qualifications
- Strong manual dexterity and craftsmanship
- Highly detail-oriented and precise
- Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Comfortable interacting with patients when fitting appliances
- Professional, polished, and dependable
- Dental or orthodontic lab experience preferred, but not required—we will train motivated candidates with strong dexterity.
Compensation & Growth
- Minimum starting wage: $16.00/hr
- 60-day performance review with eligibility for a raise based on:
- Quality and accuracy of lab work
- Speed and efficiency without sacrificing precision
- Ability to independently fabricate appliances
- Professionalism, reliability, and teamwork
- Continued growth potential as advanced skills are mastered
