Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our team. Previous experience in food service or restaurant settings is preferred but not required. Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage the seating process efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand area
- Manage reservations and waitlists using POS systems such as Open Table.
- Communicate effectively with guests regarding wait times and seating arrangements
- Assist servers and kitchen staff by providing accurate guest counts and seating assignments
- Handle guest inquiries politely via phone or in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and guest relations skills
- Ensure that all guests are attended to promptly and courteously throughout their visit
- Support the overall flow of the restaurant to optimize guest satisfaction and operational efficiency
Skills
- Prior experience as a Host/Hostess or in food service is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast, or similar platforms
- Experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or hotel guest services is advantageous
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Professional phone etiquette and guest relations skills
- Knowledge of serving standards and guest hospitality practices
