Duties
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, family, and youth therapy sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and behavior management techniques.
- Utilize evidence-based practices including motivational interviewing, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and crisis intervention strategies to support clients experiencing acute distress or co-occurring disorders.
- Document all clinical interactions accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management efforts for clients with complex needs such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, PTSD, addiction issues, or chronic pain.
- Facilitate psychoeducational groups and conduct family counseling sessions to strengthen support systems and improve treatment outcomes.
- Engage in ongoing research and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in mental health care and ICD coding updates.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent credentialing in your state.
- Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with developmental disabilities; experience with pediatrics or geriatrics is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of clinical counseling techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, trauma-focused approaches, grief counseling, and addiction counseling.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards, CPT coding for billing purposes, and clinical documentation standards.
- Experience delivering telehealth therapy using secure platforms while maintaining patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
- Ability to manage crisis situations effectively through crisis management protocols and social work principles.
- Excellent communication skills for client engagement and collaboration with healthcare teams; experience working in inpatient or outpatient settings is desirable.
- Knowledge of medical records management systems (EMR/EHR) and proficiency in data collection for clinical research purposes is preferred.
