Essential Job Functions
● Develops and facilitates classes and hands-on learning opportunities that are creative and responsive to the individual needs and goals;
● Works creatively with individuals and the BTW team to continually build skills through enriching activities and opportunities.
● Provides both individual and group training for program participants at the work site and BTW program
● Provides 1:1 coaching at job sites in the community; works with Case Managers and the BTW Job Developer when assigned to job coaching to assure that both the employee and employer are satisfied with the employment experience.
● Transports clients as needed to job sites and community trips following driving policies using agency vehicles.
Essential Skills and Experience
The Direct Support Professional has a demonstrated ability to serve and care for people with disabilities. In addition, he/she has the following skills and experience:
Education
- Minimum of a High School Diploma, Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
Other Credentials
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Certification or ability to be certified in First Aid/ CPR, medication administration, safety care and/ or human rights training within 3 months of employment
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets the required insurance standards to be considered a safe vehicle operator
- Basic computer skills
